    Unpleasant and Unhelpfulby Yahoo | 2008-07-17 01:40:51 |

Enchantments seems to be the only witchcraft supplier left in New York and it's really a pity because it's really quite atrocious. The staff is really unpleasant and juvenile, it's quite a task getting their attention or any attempts at salesmanship. Their youth and lack of focus give me serious doubts as to any actual skill in magic and the occult, I certainly do not want my Tarot cards read by a bunch of overgrown metal heads. Any questions about the merchandise are usually met with blank stares and sullen uninformed answers. I doubt these kids could perform even the most elementary spells. I agree with the previous poster, don't go seeking magic with this ragged bunch of dilettantes and poseurs, a reputable botanica would be a far more authentic experience. On the plus side they carry an extensive selection of hard to come by magical herbs , I suppose it would be amusing questioning the cashier about the various uses of Mistletoe. .

    Yuck what a mess.by Yahoo | 2008-01-02 02:59:22 |

Wow. What a mess. This store used to be a haven for the wiccan, pagan and all other types in the magical community of New York City. Since new ownership a few years ago it has gone down hill in a big way. Just in the other day and the smell of pot filled the air, the place was filthy, we were ignored, for sale were some old shoes and some worthless action figures. Things were in disarray. When we asked if there were classes given (a main stay when former owner was there) we were nastily told to look on the wall for an answer...an answer that was not there! WOW!! What a shame. I learned my craft in this store's backyard, had my handfasting there and more. Even the poor cats living there looked like they wanted to leave! DO NOT BOTHER GOING IN THE PLACE IS FALLING APART. If you want witchcraft do not look for it in New York any more. It seems to have disappeared. I suggest you look for your local Botanica where there will be much respect and many of the things Enchantments used to carry. Yuck. What a mess.

    Viva Enchantments!by Yahoo | 2007-11-05 17:25:15 |

I had a 7-day candle made for me, and it worked. Every time I do spells with what I purchase at Enchantments, they never fail me. The staff are fun, eccentric, and beautiful. NYC needs more stores like this. Especially in the East Village!

    wishes completedby Yahoo | 2006-12-15 14:29:41 |

I go when I have extremely important wishes. I have gone 3x and each ntime my wish has been granted-including: pregnancy, grants coming my way and love---my current husband. Only go when you really need to. the staff are strange but mystical. Respect them-they lead the path to the higher level. It has nothing to do with God-but everything to do with your inner prayers and intentions.
