Overview

The Bronx Zoo is the largest urban zoo in the United States. It houses thousands of animals, ranging from lions and monkeys to sea lions and sloths. The Congo exhibit features lowland gorillas, pythons and other central African animals. A modern zoo, it places animals into re-creations of their own ecosystems.

The zoo is great, but an important group of animals (mostly the african ones) can't be seen becuase they are kept indoors because of the cold.

Terrific Timeby Yahoo | 2006-08-24 00:01:02 |

Our family enjoyed the Bronx Zoo. The animals were plentiful and visible. The staff was pleasant. We saw lions and tigers, bears, giraffes, elephants, rhinos and cheetas. New this summer are the wild african dogs. The attractions were great. There is a monorail that takes you on a tour of Asia. The is a gondola that cruises over the zoo from one side to the other. The Congo Jungle with the Gorillas was great. The entrance prices were ordinary ($12 adults) but the attractions are costly (either $3-$5 each or $13 for all). So $25 for everything. I was surprised to see a $6 hot dog even in NYC.

Wild in the Wildby Yahoo | 2005-09-25 19:18:15 |

With the wild and crazy atmospher of NYC, what better place to have a Zoo. It is the best of both worlds. You enter and see a world beyond immagination. Monkeys, Lions, Seals, Pandas. It's a reflection of NYC. Its a great deal "safari" and it is great to go by yourself, with family, or with friends. Bring a gorrilla doll to the monkey cages and just watch there reactions. ps. seeing eye dogs should be left home, the bobcats dont really like them.

Definitely worth the trekby Yahoo | 2005-09-06 18:10:48 |

Huge zoo, didn't even get to see it all, but what I saw I loved. They had a wide variety of animals and exhibits. The Congo gorillas were amazing! Go on a Wed. and pay what you wish.

GRINNING EAR TO EARby Yahoo | 2005-08-23 18:57:13 |

Hello, My name is Teresa and I recently had the chance to visit the Bronz zoo with my family. My face hurt when I left because I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time I was there. There are so many things to see there whether you are young or old. If I could visit any place over and over again it would defintely be the Bronx Zoo, not only is it great fun but you also get a nice leg workout from walking so much!
