Overview
The majestic Empire State Building was completed in 1931 as the world's tallest building. While not the tallest anymore, it remains as impressive as ever. At night the building is lit up, with special colors displayed on holidays. Tickets can be purchased online through the Empire State Building's website or in the building's lobby. The observatory here is open 365 days a year. After you waited for two hours with this voucher that we purchased in a package the kids were tired. We got there early and there was still a very long line. The kids were not impressed with it.
spent nearly 1.5 hrs in line to gt to ticket booth, then 40 minutes to 80th floor then 20 minutes to 86th floor. Reverse the time in the elevators. Inside of building is under mass construction on all floor since new management team is in charge. Security because of construction is haphard at best. Go to Rockefellar Center is you want a view of the area without the hassle. Michael P. Kerwin
We went after dark and the view was gorgeous. I got all kinds of great pictures. My suggestion would be to pay the extra for the express passes. We were to the top in less than 10 minutes, while the lady running the elevator said that the regular lines were taking about 2 hours. Totally worth the extra $20.
Last June i was in NY and visited the Empire State Building. In our hotel we bought tickets for the 86th (outside deck) and the 102nd floor (small inside deck). On the 86th floor you have a perfect view of all the buildings in NY. It's outside and you can feel the wind when you are watching, that makes it more intense. I would recommend it everyone! Nevertheless the 102nd floor was a bit disappointing. The view was not much better than you expect. This because of the dirty windows. Also there were many scratches on the windows. I looked to the Chrysler building and when i was looking i was reading: "Greetz from Canada" or "John was here..". No, i don't recommend the 102nd floor. Keep your money and spent more time on the 86th floor!
Our students and parents on this tour were so upset with the rudeness of the ESB staff that we turned around and left after an hour of being hassled about getting our pre-ordered tickets. We were disappointed but felt that the behavior of the staff was not acceptable and did not want to reward it by accepting the tickets.
I went with my dauters 5ys & 9ys old. They didn't enjoy the view because they are too tired to get there. More than 1 hour to get there was worst for small children. I'll go to TOP OF THE ROCK next time.
It is without a doubt the best 360 views of New York City. Also has a great souvenier store and restuarant.Loved the ride to the top.
This attraction had a long waiting line, but I had the NY Pass and got to skip the ticket lines. It was worth the wait though because the view was breathtaking. Even though it was freezing when I went, it was definetly worth it.
I really like the Empire State Building. You can see everything. I got to see it before 9/11 :( it makes me think of the picture I have taking of the twin towers. It is not for people who are really scared or Sucidle. It is beautiful when you go in like the picture gold and then you up to 186 on the elevator. If you are in a hurry to go down go down the stairs but I wish I didn't do it, it was so scary I would have waited for the elevator. If it is your first time go to the Empire state building and you will see what I mean.
Crazy Cold there up top in winter. Plus I was shocked to feel the building move. But the most pleasure I got was seeing the city at night. Plus the twin tower's Which are sadly gone. But. Any and Everyone should go see this great Building. Museum. And of course the...... movie Sleepless in Seattle. I saw the huge Empire Statue and the wall sign. Great Visit. Great Great Great
