Overview
Always filled with people, Rockefeller Center stretches for blocks. There is plenty to do here—in winter an outdoor café is transformed into an ice-skating rink. There is a shopping plaza with stores, restaurants and bars. The GE Building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza houses NBC, which offers guided tours of its premises, as well as the Top Of The Rock observation deck. Visitors can also take a tour of Radio City Music Hall on 50th Street at Sixth Avenue. In December, be sure to check out the enormous lighted Christmas tree.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 07:00 AM to 12:00 AMI love this place but it is so beautiful in the winter when there is snow on the ground.
We love to see the Tree and watch the Ice Skaters. Rockefeller Center is a winter wonderland, a exciting place to visit anytime of the year, but especially at Christmas.
We didn't stay long. But it had alot of see. Of course the Ice Skating wasn't there. It was just a cafe. But the flags of different countries was nice. And we got to see alot of things near there. St. Patrick's We walked to from here and the NBC STUDIO's and the Today show we walked to. It was nice
it is sooooooooooo oh sooooooooooooo beautifu during winter. i encourage parents to take their kids there this winter. i know im going. stay at a five star hotel of ur choice. and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day after your dinner, go there and explore. it will be one christmas vacation u will never ever oh never ever forget. remember Rockefeller Center is the place to be on Christmas.
I've been to the observation decks at Empire State Building and Top of the Rock (both twice) and I will honestly tell you that if you only have time to do one, go to the Top of the Rock. Same price, better experience. The elevator ride is awesome and the views are fantastic! There are 3 levels at Top of the Rock (only 1 at ESB) and the crowds are smaller. We walked by the ESB on our last trip about 9 PM and the line was round the block! We got straight up on both trips taken TOTR (October and June). You can't see Central Park from ESB, but the full park is able to be viewed from TOTR.
I LUV IT OUT THERE. I LUV THE DECORATION ON THE X'MAS TREE. LUV THE FOOD OUT THERE.I MUST VISIT. U SHOULD VISIT IT IN DEC.WITH THE COOL BREEZ PASSING BY U WEN UR SKETING.IT'S A LUVLY FEELING.
Loved the Center. NBC tour was the best part of our trip to NYC. The Center is clean and in the heart of all of the shopping. The TODAY shows tapes live during the week and is a fun way to see the show live.
Elegantly decorated during the Christmas season, the best time to visit the Rockefeller Center is undoubtedly in December. The main draws are the big Christmas tree and ice-skating rink, which makes for a wonderful photo opportunity. However, the ever-present crowd can be a deterrent for the perfect photograph. You can also catch NBC's Today show being taped live in the morning, or go to the Top of the Rock for a view of the Big Apple.
I recommend going to the top of the rock as opposed to going up in the Empire State Building. We got right in with no lines, costs a lot less, and got practically the same view, if not better because you got to see the Empire State Building. Amazing views. Can't pass this up!
We were walking along the streets forever trying to find a resteraunt, when we just walked right into Rockefeller Center. We went for the week of thanksgiving and it was beautiful. They had most of the enormous christmas tree up. It was breath taking. Figuring out how to get down to the resteraunts was a little confusing at first, but then we noticed the elevators. The Cafe was very nice. It wasn't TOO expensive but it wasn't cheap. Great food and very kind and informative staff. If I went back again, which I hope to,I would love to try out the ice skating rink.
