Overview
Lady Liberty, representative of freedom to the world, shines bright in New York Harbor. Created by Frenchman Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, the Statue was a gift from France to the United States. Now, visitors can view the inside of the statue through a glass ceiling, and capture a better image of Lady Liberty through the enhanced lighting and video system surrounding the statue. Visitors can walk onto the observation deck to see New York City and its Harbor. With a torch and a book in her hands, Lady Liberty has generously welcomed immigrants and visitors for over a century.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 09:30 AM to 06:00 PMMy friends and i really enjoyed the statue of liberty along with the boat ride i will go back again and again
I loved this place & the view of NYC was unbelievable. But the wait in lines were horrible...
Whenever I take family to NYC to see the Statue of Liberty, instead of waiting in all the security line, I take them on the staton island ferry, its only a buck or two and you get a boat ride and go past the statue.
If you really want to visit the statue buy your tickets in advance. The experience was a total waste after standing in line for almost 2 hours.
The sytatue was very tall, and it was veery big and it was very cool to look out of tha too[p I wasn to go back. I was green and i wnated to now wy the lady had a fire burning her up becauze when somone sculpted her, then wy didn't she die.
Thanks to the 9/11 losers who corrupted flying and going to places like this, the visit to the SOL was the worst! We were up early to go get in line (although we had already pre-purchased tickets) to get searched before getting on the ferry...once at the Statue, had to wait in another horrific long line to get inside. Totally would NOT go thorough all that again...should have taken the ferry to see it from the water--that would have been better than wasting over half of a day of our trip.
it was excelent wow i dig da statue its the best.want to go again just waiting to cash in on sum deals God is good God loves u all .
The ferry ride over is fun--but cold in the winter. The island is really nice and go ahead and take the museum tour (remember, tickets have to be purchased for this at least 2 days in advance). It's worth the 30-45 minute way due to security checks. The museum history is awesome and the observation deck is nice.
I like it but a lot of securety (due to 9/11). I really like the mueseum and the shop (yet I wish it was bigger). 5 flits of stairs not my favorite part to hear from the person there if you have been in the museum two things. 1. Take a break before going up the stairs to see all of New York. 2. Get a tour guide. When I did myself I wish I did. It was just like the movies and on TV. It is worth the trip. Plan a whole day and not just half that is what I learned on this trip.
This. What can I say. The boat ride from the Fairies. You see the statue it looks so small and you turn around you see that breath-taking skyline. Everyone was cheering and laughing and I had a tear in my eye. Turned around got off on the island. And The museum was great. We didn't have time on schedule to go up into the statue but we Went inside the base and monument part. Great museum. Great part of NYC! just everything from feeding squirrel's in Battery Park waiting for Fairy to come. To the view's you get of the city! Remarkable!
