Along with Isola 2000, Auron is one of the Côte d'Azur's finest ski resorts. Well-maintained access roads limit journey time from Nice (about 90km) to around an hour. Created in 1937, this village resort set 1600 meters (one mile) above sea level offers skiers 130 kilometers (81 miles) worth of magnificent runs and unparalleled views. Adapted to different types of skier and level of ability, the resort is divided into three sections: a family area, one where skiers can concentrate on improving their technique and another for just having fun! In the village square there's a small ice rink and the resort is also well equipped with shops, restaurants, hotels and rented accommodation. Enjoy the cool mountain air in summer too and have a go at rock climbing or mountain biking.
