A big favorite with locals and visitors alike, attracting roller-bladers, cyclists and dog owners, Promenade des Anglais hugs the seashore for several kilometers. The promenade's characteristic blue chairs, scattered along the way, provide the perfect vantage point from which to take in the expanse of azure blue stretching as far as the eye can see. It took its current form in 1822, when Lewis Way, an Englishman who lived in Nice during the winter months, financed the two-meter wide path. It is free of charge to stroll, bask in the sun, and enjoy the pleasures of Nice's beaches.Upcoming Events Near Promenade des Anglais

I think Nice is great. its always fantastic weather when i go in august. The beach is good and i love walking at night on the promenade. Theres alot of things to do there! Its my favourite holiday and i always luk 4word 2 come. i advise any 1 2 go there its brill!
It was in Sept. 2005 that my daughter and I were in Nice. The weather was a bit coot but it did not stop us to be at the beach. The people are nice and friendly. The food was great and we spent most of our time exploring the local area. I recommend Ax-en-provence, we both love it there!
promenade des anglais was absolutely amazing. you could see all cultures and nations together there. many different people, but this beautiful peace floating somewhere between. you could hear jazz, see young people dancing, old men playing drums. and architecture. all those wide windows. so much air and yet so much intensivity.
We love this place, we come back every year twice a year. The fish market full of restaraunts is fantastic, the atmosphere at night is so good. The shopping is brilliant too, and caters for all pockets. Not a place to take kids tho, nice for a long weekend or a romantic break!!!!
I loved Nice- great restaurants, cafes! Very easy to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Good night life in Old Town! Enjoy the nice summer weather and the cool beaches.
A great location with great views. Plenty of things to select from for food, snacks and beach experiences. We stayed in the private beach right across from our hotel which was convenient. Don't be afraid of the beach restaurants. They are not tourist traps. WE had dinner at the Lido beach place and it was the best meal I had in 10 days in Provence and Nice. Try the Bass. We also had a great time parasailing.
Nothing. I absolutly loved everything about it. It was so amazing. I would recommened it to everyone. My husband and I had our honey moon there. We had such a good time. We are going there in a few months because we absolutly loved it.
this was a horrible place whenever we went there, the service wasn't good and people there weren't nice. The weather was also very bad. I didn't care for what they had to eat there as well and they wreeked of rich mahgonany, many leather bound books from my apartment
This Place is Beautiful The coast line is Great. Be sure to take flip flops it gets really hot on the beach~My Friend burned her feet they were all red the next day. In the morning it fells great to run on the beach. Be sure to take lots of water!!! My title "been there done that"(My friend and I have been there Five-six times.) Luv it!!!!!!
the first thing that most people think about when they think of Nice is the promanade, but it was not that exciting. I am sorry if this is grande faux pas to all the tourist who love(d) it, but you walk and look at the ocean and the buildings, which is noce, but.... That is if you do not get hit by one of the insane cars walking over to the beach. THe beach is not that great to walk on either, the rocks are larger that what you would imagine and twisting/breaking something is not my idea of a fun vacation. everyone should go once, but that is all, really. One good thing is that the few days I was there, people were handing out free samples of Orangina and anything free and in a foreign country is bound to taste better.
