Overview
If you are in the Old Market and in need of a coffee break, stop at this great little cafe. This small, cozy place has coffee bags and beans displayed as decoration. You can buy beans or drinks. The Snickerdoodle flavor of beans is wonderful. Pastries and bagels are also available. MJ Java coffee and beans are also available at area grocery stores, the UN-Omaha campus, Methodist Hospital and Bergan Mercy Medical Center.Open Hours
Mo to Th from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM, Fr from 06:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Sa from 08:00 AM to 11:00 PMThe food selection is way too limited. That place is empty most of the time - that should tell the owners something. They foolishly chase potential business out - they seem to suffer from "Bitter Beer Face" - should be at some library hushing people!! Very foolish business sense. Owners need to lose the attitude and get a life, along with a much better selection and marketing practices, then maybe their business could improve, although I'll never purchase anything from there given the behavior of the staff (older lady and guy).
I travel back and fourth from Omaha to Seattle, almost on a monthly base. Three months ago I noticed a scooters java express in the airport. I asked the Southwest Gate staff if the coffee is any good and they raved about how great the coffee is, so I tried a very expensive cup of this coffee and after about a half a cup of coffee I gave it back and told them to keep it. About an hour later I checked into the DoubleTree hotel and noticed "Best of Omaha" magazine. I looked inside the magazine and noticed that this Scooters one the best of Omaha. I asked the hotel staff where I can find a "good" cup of coffee, the Tammy behind the desk told me that the best coffee in Omaha was MJ Java, she gave me the address and off I went. Wow, what a great cup of coffee. I had a chance to speak the the owner of the coffee shop and asked him about this scooters coffee, he laughed and told me that all I had to do is taste the difference-and he was right. I can't say enough about this coffee, this is by far the best coffee I've had. The moral of this story is this: Omaha people don't seem to know what good coffee is. If you voted scooters as the best coffee, then maybe you folks need to get out more and try other coffees.
excellent coffe and a fun treat after a big day. i love their coffee
