I'm from Kansas City and my kids love to visit three things when we come up. 1. Grandma 2. Omaha Children's Museum 3. Zoo. My children ages 2 and 4 have so much fun whenever we visit. There's so much to do that they never get bored. The exhibit on the top floor changes enough that it also gives them something new to look forward to every time. The only problem is they don't ever want to leave once we're there!
its fun and great for familys and great family time love it .
im 16 currently and STILL think it is awsome. i used to to every month as a kid and always had fun. The best parts i think is when they have their science shows, face painting, and arts and crafts.
I am now 15 years old and I live in Nebraska and I always LOVED going to the children's museum! There are lots of things to do for kids of all ages. It's educational but very fun. My favorite part was the grocery store where you could pretend you were either shopping or you were the cashier. It is very realistic! They have play foods and also real boxes and containers of foods but with the food taken out. I would recommend this to all kids! It's a blast!
I like the exhibits like light play, how peolpe make thing. It is cool there is nothing to dislike about it it has a eating place to eat a store to shop in. it's better than a mall. it's so much to do i can't even explain
My grandchildren had a blast. The cost was very reasonable and they enjoyed themselves out of the heat! Would not hesitate to go back!
We took our 2,4 ,7 year old there and it was not worth the time or money! At first they thought it was neat but got bored very quickly!!!! It was overly crowed and half the stuf did not work. The shows they put on were not clearly labeled. It is basically a ton of toys! That is not a museum. A museum is a place to learn things not play with toys!!!
I love OCM. We have a membership there, and we try to go once every 6-8 weeks. This museum was just totally renovated in Spring 2007, so everything is brand new. They have an awesome room for babies thru age 3 and even a "family room" for breastfeeding mothers and to eat snacks. There is something for all ages here. I have 2 kids, ages 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, and they never want to leave when it's time to go.
The children's museum is a great place to go anytime, but we usually go when the whether is not the best outside. I like that they are always changing the place so the kids don't get bored. It saves my sanity and money for those icky, rainy, summer days. I just pack the kids up and we spend the day at the museum. I would like to see a consession area-that would make it perfect.
If I had a choice, I'd go to the Lincoln Children's museum instead. The Omaha Children's Museum was not that great, but since we had free tickets, I won't complain. We went on Friday, April 27th and it looks like there is a big new area but there were signs saying it would not open until April 28th. Try explaining that we were a day early to a 3 year old. Kids did love putting on makeup, the kinetic sculpture room (they have one identical in Lincoln) and the loud piano thing with all the buttons. Looks like they were remodeling upstairs, too. We will go back after all the renovation work is completed.
