Overview

Looking as though it's straight out of a cartoon, this chapel replaced the original building in 1952 after an attack by a German submarine in World War II. The area was originally settled by catholic natives early in the 1700s as a way to escape the unrest of other parts of the island before the original structure was built in 1750. Today, it is a relatively peaceful tourist attraction with an annual pilgrimage in October.
