Overview
The most important thing to know about Downtown Disney Marketplace is that you don't have to be a park patron to shop here. An open-air shopping enclave, it is built at the edge of a lake and offers 26 stores, including the Ghiradelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, Lego Imagination Center and, of course, the World of Disney, billed as the planet's largest Disney merchandise store. A number of restaurants are tucked in here, including Bongo's, Blues Cafe, Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood, and Wolfgang Puck Express.Open Hours

I loved Downtown Disney Marketplace. You have a beautiful Marina to enjoy. Ferry rides. Excellent shopping, don't miss World of Disney, and the Lego Store. Great food! It really was one of our favorith places at Disney.
Downtown Disney Marketplace is a mixture for all ages. It holds plenty of shops for kids and adults alike. As you walk down the main area, you will see shops with Disney wears next to a candy shop (with caramel apples being made right in front of you). They also have shops that make their own bath soaps, a cigar shop, and a magic shop. The resturants there are as varied as the shopping. There are big name chefs (Wolfgang Puck) and family friendly resturants like the Rainforest Cafe. There is also a cuban resturant and a Girabaldi chocolate store. There are also 2 main spots to see performances. There is the House of Blues which holds regular concerts and there is Cirque Du Solei which has performances daily that show off their acrobatic and magical marvals. Overall...it's a great place to visit whether you are 5 years old or 50 years old.
To experience an entire market focused on Disney you need to visit Downtown Disney in Orlando, FL. There is shopping, restaurants, fun centers, dancing and shows. If you love Disney you will love Downtown Disney. Good thing about it is that it is free to visit. There is no entrance fee. Great place for the family or just hanging with a group friends. There are actually night clubs located inside Downtown Disney. It is just a fun environment. If your a kid there is plenty to do and for adults it makes you wish you were a kid again.
WE WENT THERE TWICE DURING OUR STAY. THE 1ST TIME WAS VERY BUSY IN THE AFTERNOON & EVENING AND IT WASN'T AS ENJOYABLE. THE SECOND TIME WAS MID-MORNING AND IT WASN'T CROWDED AT ALL. VERY OPEN AND RELAXED WANDERING FROM STORE TO STORE. I THINK IT WOULD BE FUN FOR ADULTS AT NIGHT WITHOUT KIDS, FOR A NIGHT OUT. LOTS OF SPOTS TO TAKE PICTURES WITH STATUES OF CHARACTERS.
This is a wonderful place to bring the whole family. It's free, you'll easily spend a few hours here looking through the shops or just trying to get your kids away from the fountain {bring a towel}. Nice selection of eateries to choose from and plenty of souvenirs to purchase.
