Mo to Sa from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Su from 11:00 AM to 09:00 PMWe stopped in the Quality Inn Plaza which is right oposite, and gave this plaze a miss for the 1st few days, once we did visit we went there most days! We found Adobe Gila's the best bar (for family types) Make sure you don't miss Maggiano's Little Italy for really HUGE (even bu US standards) portions. Basicly they have a deal were you chose several starters, mains and deserts for $24.99 per person, a bargain provided you haven't eaten for a few. The food and service is really classy, you don't have to but youcan dress to impress (I wish we had!)
The area is not too bad. Pretty much comparable to Universal City Walk. BUT the biggest problem is with the parking. It took us 50 minutes to get out of the parking building, which cause us to have to pay an additional dollar in parking fees, not to mention the gas we burned up while waiting for a flawed system. Definately skip this one. Go to City Walk, where parking is free after 6:00 PM or Downtown Disney where parking is free all day.
when you see the pointe online, it looks great. only when you get there, everything is closed up. too many places out of business. when you go there expexting a ton of things to do and the best that you get is hooters, something is wrong. will not go back.
sept 06 it was like a ghost town unlike previous years ive been due to building work thats being carried out iam quite sure though that when completed will fab just what south international drive needs just hurry up please
If you went to Pointe Orlando a year ago and discounted it, you may wish to rethink your plans. The only thing that was worth doing there a few months back was the movie theater... now movies are $5 until 5PM and $6 all night. Now for the good part. FOOD! Yes, the Hooters is still there, but beyond that the place has gone upscale. Capital Grille is open and, as with every one in this franchise, it's food is surpassed only by its service. We just took 100 people from the office to celebrate another record year. Tommy Bahama just opened- food and clothing. Friends tell me it's also great. Maggianos (Italian) opens in a few weeks - I can't wait.
I loved the atmosphere of Pointe Orlando. I had never before shopped at a place that had no roof and the view was breathtaking. I loved the fact that you could still see the sun shining and the palm trees swaying in the wind while strolling around. My favorite places were World of Denim, Disney Worldport, and the Guess? store.
We were greatly disappointed by Pointe Orlando. I had read several reviews before going, since we were only going to be in the area for the day. The reviews I read were very positive. But we found the whole place seemed very run down. Many stores were not open. Some were supposed to open at 11:00am, but only opened for a short while around 11:30am then closed again. Many were not in use at all. It was a huge waste of time! The only positive was the restrauants and Starbucks.
IT WAS A GOOD AREA TO GO AND WALK AROUND AND THEY HAD A LIVE LOCAL GROUP OUT THERE SINGING AND ALL SO IT WAS FUN AND THEY HAVE A TON OF SHOPS!
I like Pointe Orlando because it is such a great place to walk around and shop and sometimes just sit in the resturaunts and talk. Its also a great place for a family outing. They have stores, restaraunts, and all different types of entertainment. Its the place to go.
we have been going to pointe orlando for 6 years and have seen a dramatic decline in the amount of shops open. the big toy shop is empty, disney worldport was empty. it would appear this place is going the same way as the mercado. on the plus side, the food at the various restaraunts is very good.dan marinos is very good as is lulu's bait shack. a good burger can be had at johnny rockets. overall it is a pity the place is gradually emptying.
