I have stayed in Palm Springs many times, but I LOVED this location. Right across the street from excellent restaurants; no need to drive. Service was friendly. Room are definitely a little old, but the price is right.
I will never go back to Palm Mountain Resort. First, we arrived at 1:30 expecting to get into the room we reserved, but instead, they tell us we have to wait until 4 to check in because the room isnt ready. Second, We get charged $200 for apparently smoking in a non smoking room when we didn't. This by far is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I will never go back.
First you don't get breakfast if you don't complain and say that it was supposed to be included in the rate showed on their own web site. Then they through to your face a coupon for a continental breakfast somewhere downtown without explaining were it is or apologizing ... very strange !!! (the breakfast is a pity, if one considers the rate of the hotel rooms). The second point is the very very noisy rooms, where you hear everything from your neighbours.. And last but not least are these 8$ fees, for each room for ... not always needed ?? : paper, computer in the main lobby (only one, you have to make the queue)... Very very disappointing !
We chose this hotel because we wanted something a little special and different. The location in down town Palm Springs was the best part. It went down hill from there. We made our reservation through The Auto Club. We asked for a delux room with some extra space. We were looking for a romantic retreat. Upon check-in, we were switched to a much lesser room, next to the pool. It was not well cleaned. There were some maintenance problems with chipped and scratched paint. It was noisy. Definately not romantic. On the morning of our second day, we put out the sign for maid service, but the room was not cleaned until after 5:00 PM. Yes, they were fully booked, but perhaps on busy weekends, they should increase the staff level. It wasn't awful, but it really wasn't great either. I could have stayed at the Comfort Inn for less money and a cleaner room.
We arrived late on a Friday evening from L.A.,completed business in the city and wanted to spend some time in Palm Springs. So, we chose to spend our hard earned dollars with Palm Mountain Resort. Upon arrival one of the night attendant was standing outside of the door (direct)smoking, not that this was problem but it began to float back into the lobby and now the lobby was smelling of smoke (2nd hand stuff...deadly. As we proceeded to our room, as soon as we open the door we noticed a moldly smell, the room smelled badly with this ordor, so bad my campanion asthma started flairing up. We stayed long enough to find another place to stay (15 minutes)called the front desk and we were told "not a problem" when I arrived at the front desk, I was told that I would be charged for the entire night. I was not happy when I was told tbis by the night attendant which then told me to call back in the morning and speak with the manager. After speaking with one manager I was sent to another manager whom seem to have customer service training were the other two was there to only pick up a pay check. I do not expect to get the entire amount of $112 back, but do expect some type of refund. Guest please beaware that the rooms smell bad but again according to the maid service , it's clean! DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!
The location and price are great. We enjoyed are stay tell the Manager women had to show her authority out at the pool. We were with a group that were there for golfing, average age of are group was 49 which is old enough to know better. We were all at the pool about 5:30 in the afternoon having a few beers and enjoying the pool, when a female manager came out and told us we were to loud. I'm sorry but what is to loud pool side in the afternoon. I think she just had a attidude problem and she was the only flaw to our 4 day trip to Palm Springs.
great staff and the rooms for the price were good. great location walking distance to downtown strip for dinner or the village fest. nice ombiance and pool.
I stayed with an Elderhostel group for one week. I had ants in the bathroom...floor, sink counter and mirror. I compained for 4 days. On the 5th they were gone. Man next door stood outside my door to smoke and smell came in. He also smoked in his room and smell came in.
We were part of a large group who stayed at the resort. We were treated by a professional staff. Our rooms were older but nice. New Ice machines were recently added. Pool was wonderful and the Cabana bar was a nice touch. Rooms could use some repair and care but for the price we sure could not complain. The location is amazing. Enjoyed our evening walks in downtown Palm Springs. We plan on using the same resort on our annual trip to Palm Springs next year.
Great location. Everything else is falling apart, dirty or just lowest quality. Stayed two nights, suffering through furniture falling apart, hideous mattresses, plumbing failures, even needed phone maintenance. The continental breakfast was of the lowest quality with unripe fruit and poor quality baked goods. Such a shame.
