On Restaurant Row in Rancho Mirage, this determinedly British restaurant hearkens back to the dark-wood inns of English highways before the automobile. Waitresses dressed (more or less tastefully) as serving wenches bring out platters of beef ribs, salmon, roast lamb and prime rib, all reasonably priced. Eat in the pub, in the main dining room, or the Shakespearean Room decorated with scenes from Shakespeare's plays. Traditional English desserts finish the evening, with popular favorites including the English Rice Pudding and the Royal Brandy. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30 pm onwards.
