Built in 1894, this shoppers' paradise has continually reinvented itself and kept customers coming back. The resplendent main hall has an impressive array of perfumes, accessories and other products. The store stocks all the best designer labels and also has its own deluxe grocery counter, six restaurants, a travel agency, fashion shows, internet access and more. Its incredible Christmas window displays are a Parisian institution.

Galeries Lafayette in Paris is a gourmet shopping feast with all types of delicies for every price range. I was amazed at the hustle and bustle, the wide range of choices, the display racks, and generally the overall ambiance. How about opening one in New York?
Les Galeries Lafayette in Paris will blow your mind. If you could compare it to the size of a mall, but about 7 or 8 stories high, with every style of clothing possible. And this place is just one store, not a couple of different ones. Luckily, to help you navigate around the store, tourists may grab a map that tells you what is in the store, which floor to go to, and where to eat. The selection is unbelievable. It is impossible to not find something you like in there.

it was great the bike shop was the best. the food was good too. the guides we the best. it was the best outdoor mall ever!
Nice place, a lot of choice but not the less expensive place in Paris !! :-) You can go the "Le Printemps" too, which is nearby and wery similar...
the best clothing stlyes of all price ranges- best shopping I ever did in Europe for a wonderful price- give yourself more time than you expect and make sure you visit the basement- some of the best deals are there!
Next to dining in Paris is shopping, the Galeries Lafayette is much more than a deptment store where you buy what ever, it is an experence, not to be missed---it is Paris.
I have been living in paris for more than two years now, and i am still amazed that nobody ever refers to some very prestigious stores in Paris, such as Paralleles in the 4th district( 30 rue des Blancs Manteaux 75004 PARIS), near by Hotel de Ville. Tourists would surely enjoy a visit at les Galeries Lafayette but if they want to buy a real piece of leather, a creation, a unique leather coat, they should explore the little streets downtown Paris. They will find the best stores, the greatest artists who are creative and innovative and like their customers to be real amateurs.Thanks a lot
