Overview

About 30 minutes by car from Penang Island, this gem of a forest reserve sprawls over 37 hectares of hilly terrain encapsulated in dense vegetation. The summit of the Mertajam Hill reaches 457 meters (1500 feet) above sea level, where the cool fresh air induces a profusion of wild flowers and ferns that attract butterflies and birds. From the foothill, a stream originating from the hilltop pours into shallow ponds ideal for a cool and invigorating swim. The four kilometer (2.5 mile) trekking trail leading to the hilltop is extremely popular with climbers, walkers and joggers.

If you go to Bukit Mertajam, don`t forget to drop by at Bukit Mertajam Recreational Forest. Here you can find some of flora and fauna that never seen before. Lastly, don`t forget to eat the most famaous CHAR KOEW TEAW in Penang. It very delious and you cannot find any place same taste like this before.

I want to visit bukit mertajam long time ago. But I don't have the chance to go there. I heard there was a very nice place. but...... how ever, I wish can have a nice trip to there.
