Initial reception - Rude. Rooms - double rooms made into triples, double bed pushed up against the wall so could only access from one side for two people. Smell - if window left open to air it smelt smokey from room below (or so was said). Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Had to ask for cleaning service. Food great & plenty of it. Most Staff tried to be helpful. Location - great very central.

The staff and value for money are what make this hotel great! The staff were friendly, chatty and couldn't do enough to help us. Catherine and Andrea on reception were wonderful, and it felt like coming home when we got back after a hard day's sightseeing! The room was lovely, clean and comfortable, if a little basic. I like the people there because all of them are very friendly and polite especially a lady from housekeeping department and I think she is a supervisor there.

We stayed 5 days ending 4 Nov 05. The room, including carpets, was very clean. Shampoo and toilet tissue is supplied freely. However you need to bring your own room slippers, toothbrush/toothpaste and shower cap. Staff was very polite, cheerful and helpful. Our ceiling lamp blew on the morning of the third day and we informed reception. The bulb was replaced by the time we returned in the evening. Its location is superb. One can't ask for anything more!

It is in the centre of the city, good location, near to shops, restaurants, train station, and bus stops. But rooms need to revonate for better comfort.
