Watch out for the extrasby Yahoo | 2009-10-28 02:52:14 |

I checked in for a conference last week with a trade association, the price seemed a bit high for this type of place but I figured I would be on-site. I didn't know about the $30 "resort fee" tacked on daily. Supposedly it covers internet access, parking and the health-club. When I checked out I pointed out that I only accessed the internet at the business center, didn't have a car and went running around the property since the health club was so far away. Didn't matter and it didn't make it better when I saw the guy checking out next to me pay $15 for the same so-called resort fee (and he was complaining too)! I wonder if they low-ball rates with business groups and then make up the difference with higher "gotchas?" Anyway, I'll pass on this "value" next time I am in Phoenix. It's not bad, just not worth the price unless you really use the health club and water park a lot. And I suggested to my trade associatin that they do the same thing next time they are looking for a location for their annual conference.

Avoid this resort at all costs. From the very beginning of our stay the service was very poor, often we felt that we were intruding upon their time. Most standing around and not inquiring to the questions and needs of the guests. We booked a suite, but were given a regular room. When we inquired to the front desk, they gave excuse after excuse on why we did not receive what we had requested and paid for. We gave up our request for a change and settled for a very cramped room. The pools were disappointing, and the water park opened at 11:00 and closed at 4:00, regardless of the 400 plus guests who were at the pool with a temp. of 108 degrees! Then they piped in high frequency noise to disperse the guests, similar to what you would find at a riot to break up rowdy attendees. We felt as if we were in a third world country acting as criminals. We will not stay here again. The only plus was Jody in the pro-shop, she was wonderful. The golf course was a plus too. The resort manager needs to get a grip on his staff and remind them that repeat business is so important and word of mouth of poor and disappointing experiences at a resort travels quickly. We have told numerous friends to look elsewhere to stay while in the beautiful city of Phoenix.

A Returning HAPPY Familyby Yahoo | 2009-09-10 09:50:15 |

The staff was great in accommidations and request at the Gym and Tennis court accomadations away from the Grand, plus with suggestions of other fun in the Pheonix area. This is a GREAT PLACE for the JR AND H.S. and college kids with parents..They can work out/swim/tennis/ raquet ball or just chill out around the resort plus it is all included in the $..(CHEAPER THAN SIX FLAGS PARKS) We had a $50 daily credit to use toward food or golf ..This was our second return we hope to come again. Do go to nearby Oregano's Pizza and Crackerjacks mini golf !!! We enjoyed our week!!!

i will never stay at this hotel again!by Yahoo | 2009-08-04 22:30:59 |

I dont think it is safe for my children to swim at the water park. When some of the life gaurds were not able to answer a question consistantly I spoke to one of the pool security gaurds. When I asked him why his staff could not answer a simple question for me his response was, and I quote, Ma'm these are just 16 and 17 year old kids.!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me??? These are the people you put trust in to watch over hundreds of children! I was shocked we immediately left the hotel and went to a different one. Another reason that we left was because our room smelled like raw sewage!!!

It was awesome!by Yahoo | 2009-07-08 17:23:42 |

This hotel was very very fun! I would totally recommend this hotel! It really was worth the money! But i suggest bringing you're own food with you to eat. It is super expensive there!

Great Hotelby Yahoo | 2009-06-29 16:39:41 |

My family usually veers away from high class hotels but the waterpark service and overall enjoyment was worth it. The mexican restraunt was great and not to far from the hotel are some other great restraunts. Service was superb we had a problem with our room and so we recieved another room no questions asked. Waterpark was awsome i suggest to not wear a bikini and instead try boardshorts and a t-shirt for the waterslides. The aarizona mills mall is about 5 minutes driving time away and has great shopping. I would recomend it to others even though it is pricey but you can get good prices off of expedia.

Total Family Funby Yahoo | 2009-06-23 20:44:43 |

This hotel is great if locals want a "staycation", it's got food, fun and family written all over it. The waterpark makes it easy for parents to relax and the kids to go off and do their own thing. It is literally a water park in a hotel, plenty to do at each water stop and plenty of relxation pools and entertainment (such as daily live bands and shows). There is also plenty of food to be had at the waterpark. The rooms are all great, they are all suite style. The privacy is there if you need it, and plenty of space for everyone. Two TV's in each room so it helps if you have children w/ different TV interests. The stint I had with this hotel was parking, very little of it in the building actually accommodates the guests and very confusing and winding hallways. Also, there is no restaurant choice but Aunt Chiladas if you want to walk somewhere. Great part, AZ Mills Mall is just a half a mile away! Free is close to go everywhere.

Don't bother!by Yahoo | 2009-05-12 00:01:46 |

This hotel has beautiful grounds and the rooms are nice but the service is absolutely horrible. we called downstairs to find out where a starbucks was and all we got was "I don;t know". the water park is olny open till 6. the wait staff there are extremely slow and unhelpful and the cocktails are weak. no poolbar exept for at the water park. obviously the whole staff was a bunch of college kids from ASU who aren;t trained in hospitality at all. food was overpriced, no kids meals at the pool side. Aunt Ciladas resturaunt on site is no good unless you just go for the margharitas. ill be staying at the Buttes next time

Would not reccommendby Yahoo | 2009-05-11 21:27:41 |

This resort is just an upscale motel 6. The only thing you are paying for is the water park. You get no clear channels on tv, the tv's are small, the rooms are small and not very accommadating, the rooms are so hot, not central ac (chiller systems). Check in time (4 pm) and check out time (12am) and the water park is open 10-6, so in order to get the full benifits you would have to stay 2 days! How has that kind of money now a days. I was very disappointed in the price for basically an up scale motel 6 with a water park.

Worst Service by Managementby Yahoo | 2009-03-12 00:57:13 |

Since the resort has changed over to Arizona Grand, the service has deteriorated. Management in unconcerned with customer satisfaction and doesn't seem to have it remotely together. You could stay at a Holiday Express and get better service and feel more confident with management.
