Overview
Featuring over 200 retailers and food establishments, this facility was built in the 70s and completely remodeled in the 90s. Beautiful marble floors stretch throughout while overhead skylights bring in Arizona's sunshine. The mall is located just off Interstate-17 in north-central Phoenix. Take the Peoria Avenue exit west. Highlights are Macy's, Dillard's, Robinsons-May and Sears. Diverse dining choices will satisfy your hunger in the food court. Take a break from your shopping to enjoy the fabulous water fountains on the lower level.Open Hours
Mo to Sa from 10:00 AM to 09:00 PM, Su from 11:00 AM to 06:00 PMI love Metrocenter because it has everything I could ever want. I keep coming back week after week because of the great dining, entertainment, and shopping experiences I've had. I have been going to the mall for years and I've seen the mall go through some great renovations in not only the decor but the security and guest services staff as well. Metrocenter is a clean and safe place that is enjoyed by many. I am happy to make Metrocenter part of my weekly routine!! - Marvelous Metrocenter Shopper
I went to MetroCenter back in 1972 when it was fairly new. It was the first two level mall in the Country. Just window shopping was fun. It was clean and everyone was pleasant. Does the Goldwater family still have stock in the mall? Just wondering.
I Like Metro Center Because it's Got Great Stores And A Good Location I like what They Have Done With It Recently I like the new food court And The Bathroom Erea
To be honest I have been an Arizona resident for quite some time, and to see this mall as it is now is disheartening. It is a zoo for teenage (you name it). To take your child shopping or to get a bite to eat once was a nice outing. Now you see children, and I do mean children hugged up and kissing like they are invisible. I am aware of the reality, and that there is freedom of expression, but by all means lets be respectful. I will say this, if you are seeking a place that has respect and integrity for their customers please do not look here. Best Regards, Shopper
Well, it is kind of DISCUSTING- The floors are NOT USUALLY CLEAN and most store windows ARE DUSTY!! But overall the stores ROCK!!! So, my overall expearance was a 6 on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the best) I suggest that you should try it( the mall is kind-of gross(beware!!!)
This mall used to be a really shadey place to go, somewhere you didn't feel safe walking to or from. The lighting was terrble, making it even worse for say, kids, or girls by themselves, walking around the outside. But lately, they've been comstantly redoing the inside AND outside of this mall. Now everything about it is absolutely fantastic. The shops are great, the food court is now amazing, and the outside appearance is very appealing. If you haven't been there for a long time because you didn't like it, you should check it out now. They've really cleaned it up and made it MUCH better.
I was at this mall (several times) a year ago and really loved the food at the greek "gyoros" place and also the indian fry bread taco place. But when I tried to find out if these were still in opperation, I did not get any answer. First I tried to call them, but they didn't have an 800# (I live out of town), so then I tried e-mailing them, twice, the first one came back as undeliverable and they didn't bother to answer the second one. So when my family comes down to visit, we will go somewhere else for lunch.
This is a good mall. If I was a teenager it would be a GREAT mall! lol If you hate crowds you probably shouldn't be mall shopping at all. But, in a nutshell, this mall has plenty of parking, easy freeway access, walking distance from lots of residences (and lodging if you're visiting). It has a good occupancy rate, a nice selection of anchor stores, lots of specialty places and plenty of kiosks to pick up a quick gift if you're in a hurry. The food court has lots of variety and there is a huge Harkins theatre complex right IN the mall for you cinemaphiles. The mall is ALSO the location for one of the major public transportation hubs (Valley Metro buses) The two streets that form concentric circles around it have additional stores and lots of better quality, full service restaurants or buffets. Regardless of your income level, you can actually afford to shop at this Mall which is another plus. Neither Scottsdale nor Biltmore is worth the extra trip for me.
i really liked it. and it was my frist time there because im from mesa so i dont go to phoenix mall!! but i loved it alot because there is alot of hott guys you can meet there!!! i also liked the stores cuz i went to buy exensive high heels and i just couldnt buy one pair so i had to bought five!!!!!!!!!!!!
METRO CENTER IS THE BEST MALL ALONG WITH MILLS. I MEAN THEY HAVE STORES FOR PUNKS LIKE HOT TOPIC THEN THERES STORES FOR GAMERS LIKE GAMECRAZY. ALSO THEY HAVE DEMO AND ANCHOR BLUE FOR THE HIP HOPERS AND THEN THERES A WIDE SELECTION OF FOODS. DOWNSTAIRS THEY EVEN HAVE A KICK BACK PLACE WHEN YOU GET TIRED OF WALKING THE MALL. BUT OF COURSE U CANT FORGET THE HOT FELLAS AN GALS THAT GO TO HANG OUT AN MEET NEW PEOPLE...REALLY WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR...???
