Overview
A true adventure is what you will get when you pay for a bike tour here. This company offers natural environments as a backdrop to its challenging rides along coastal trails or jungle paths. Along with your full or front suspension bike, you will get a helmet, gloves, water bottle, and fanny pack with a bilingual guide inside. I recently took a day-trip in July 2007 with BikeMex, and overall I was pleased. Oscar was my guide, but it was only he and I on a Sunday trip. I indicated that I wanted advanced trail riding, and he showed me pictures of nice singletrack through the jungle, but I didn't see anything other than jeep roads. The trails were very scenic, great views of the mountains, and got a real taste of the rural Mexican culture as Oscar seemed to know everybody. However, I wanted some extreme biking, and did not get it. Bike as pretty decent with front suspension, but shifting components needed some road work. No food was provided in the morning, as was indicated so I ended up riding on liquid only. All in all a good experience, and I will probably ride with them again. However, I think it is important to specify exactly what you are looking for as the "canned" trips might not get what you are looking for. It is not a polished operation like the canopy tours, just some people who love to bike and are happy to take you with them. All things considered, I paid $68 to follow Oscar up a dirt road and back. It was fun, but I don't think I got my money's worth.
IT IS BORING! People who like sittin on a bike for ever will still not like it!!! It was HORRIBLE!!!!! Not one person i know liked this Awuful experience.
