Just 30 minutes away from the city you will find the town of Guayllabamba and its zoo, recently brought here from Quito. It is a park full of vegetation with special areas constructed for the different animals. There are lions in cages, enclosures constructed for smaller fauna, such as birds and different kinds of mammals, as well as some special enclosures where animals such as snakes, lizards, fish and nocturnal creatures are exhibited. There is an area specifically for Andean and Amazonian fauna. At the entrance there is an information booth, and maps of the different zones of the park. You can get there by bus, or by car. Parking is available.
