Overview

Skíðaskálinn is a restaurant and chalet, conveniently located on Highway 1, at just a 15-20 minute drive from Reykjavík. The chalet sits on a popular ski slope and close to cross-country ski trails. It also offers an outdoor spa and a natural sauna steam bath, thus graphically perusing and portraying the contradictions in Icelandic nature. The restaurant has been in business since 1935 and the menu includes modern international cuisine, as well as paying homage to Icelandic culinary tradition. The decor is influenced by Icelandic and Scandinavian Viking heritage, and in Skíðaskálinn guest can enjoy the experience of a Saga Viking Feast.
