Great Location!by Yahoo | 2006-03-14 14:30:20 |

Great location, walking distance to the colleseum, roman forum, piazza novanna, pantheon, trevi fountain, vatican, and the train termainal to/from the airport. Front desk staff was kind, helpful, and accomadating. Free breakfast was adequate but who wants a big breakfast in Rome anyway, save room for lunch and dinner. Room was small but comfortable, and very clean. Bathroom left a lot to be desired, toilet placed right next to sink, had to be an acrobat to use it, however I don't think all room layouts are the same. For the price of $150 US a night, not quite the granduer you would expect, but overall, for as little time as you will spend in your room while visiting Rome, Hotel Bolivar is not a bad choice.

Worn and Boringby Yahoo | 2005-06-08 20:55:17 |

The hotel lobby was clean and reasonably attractive for a non-4 star hotel in Italy. The service wasn't great (had to argue with the receptionist over whether we had booked two twin beds or a double bed). The rooms (we tried two) were small, smokey and falling apart. The shower head fell off right away and the wallpaper was stained with smoke marks. Wood (laminate) furniture was scuffed, scraped and put back together with duct tape. Besides the location (OK, not great), there's nothing to recommend this -- unless you enjoy the EconoLodge at three times the price.
