Overview
A visit to the Centro Storico without dropping into this exclusive, centuries-old coffee house seems almost unthinkable, especially if you have come to Rome to soak up in the history of the place. Lord Byron and Goethe had coffee here; Ricard Wagner and Franz Liszt met for pastries at the Caffé Greco. Period furnishings bring a unique charm to its labyrinthine rooms, conjuring up images of the past and the people that have been coming here since 1760.Open Hours
Su to Mo from 10:30 AM to 07:00 PM, Tu to Sa from 09:00 AM to 07:30 PMI loved-no-love this place!!! This is a coffee house like nothing we have in America. The atmosphere is beautiful. Italian antiques, granite, marble, and oil paintings to behold. Very elegant yet comfortable. The coffee is something you'll long for once you return home. Starbuck's cannot duplicate the authenticity of Italian Espresso. You'll just have to plan another trip to Rome.
This place had the strongest coffee! They also had the best custards (sorry mom). Great place to go after partying all night with those gorges Italins!!!
Caffe Greco is charming and has a wonderful atmosphere. You can just "see" the famous people that had gathered here to socialize over coffee and pastries or even a cinzano. I go back again and again when I'm in Rome. I wouldn't miss it for the world!
The cafe has a great ambience. If you like to have a taste of Italian old cafe house, Cafe Greco is a must. The cakes and coffee there is mediocre, but the decor is unique. Great place to relax while shopping along Via Condotti. Very easy to find, just next to Damian jewellery shop. Recommended after a long day of shopping!
