The world renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir broadcasts its program "Music and The Spoken Word" from the historic tabernacle. Friendly guides give tours of the tabernacle and grounds, including dropping a pin at the pulpit to demonstrate the amazing acoustics. The architecture of both buildings has been nationally recognized, as has the tabernacle organ, which boasts more than 11,000 pipes and is the 12th largest in the world. Concerts of many types regularly occur in the tabernacle and adjacent assembly hall. Admission to these attractions and the square itself, is free.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 09:00 AM to 09:00 PMYou feel like someone special walking on the grounds of Temple Square. My thoughts were free and happy and open to learn and absorb what my Lord and Savior offers us. Don't miss the movie in the basment of the Joseph Smith building - it will really set your mood and you will LOVE IT.
It's a Beatuiful place! Nice place to Enjoy yourself. Peaceful nice people Great place to be with yourself and god.To just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Accually I enjoyed everything about my visit to Temple Square. The guides were very prepared to answer our questions. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie about Joseph Smith and the Restoration of Gods True Church on earth. I will come again.
The Temple is the most beautiful building I have ever seen and to touch the stone and know how long and hard they worked to build it was something special.
I know this place is a mormons place.. Its a beautiful place..and full of spirit of faith, love, kind, and iknow this place is a promise land..and i realy greatful to be come here..i want to have many great experiences..i want to see this great place.
Enclosed by 8' tall walls, this Temple Square enclosure looks more like a fortress if you walk along side. Nothing can be seen at street level, sacrificing the view to protect the gray building. you'll have to climb to second or third floor buildings across the street to pek inside. Nothing big. Modest gardens and many doors.. It is only by passing driving a block away that you can see far away the lights aimed at this pale Disney like Sleeping Beauty like castle. Most visitors access the public areas from western gate. Well guarded by four to six nordic type missionaries whose arms clasp behind and greet you with a cautuous smile.
There is so much to see and do at Temple Square and the people are so friendly! The sites are breathtaking! I took so many pictures.
I loved the beautiful sisters and they way they presented evrything. everyone was friendly and welcoming.it is defenatly worth it.i would go over and over again. i loved all the sights and everuthing that i heard.
Temple Squre is what it is--the center of the LDS Faith. Just be advised that the helpful guides are there also to introduce you and possibly convert you to their religion. Talking to them can be very interesting, but don't sign anything or you might get a visit after you return home! While this is the major historical landmark in Salt Lake City--don't think it is the only place to see. There is plenty--especially natural wonders abound!
Salt Lake may not be at the top of everyone's "Places to Visit" list, but if you do visit, Temple Square is the place to go! The whole atmosphere is amazing - whether you're a religious person or not. I've been there many times - my favorite is during the holiday season when all the Christmas lights are out, but it's beautiful year round. A must see!! And the value is great - FREE!
