Overview

In 1610, Santino Solari, the architect of the Salzburger Dom, was appointed to build a pleasure palace on the southern outskirts of the city. The result was this magnificent early baroque building, which is set in an equally magnificent park. The park, a stunning concoction of woods, hills and paths, is now extremely popular with both tourists and locals. Ticket prices includes admission to the Wasserspiele Hellbrunn. Check for open hours as they vary seasonally.

Great for kidsby Yahoo | 2007-01-15 20:17:06 |

I have been taking students to the Wasserspiele at Hellbrunn for many years. Even though they are teenagers and grumble " What is this place?", the Wasserspiele is always a hit with them.

A must-do in Salzburg!!by Yahoo | 2006-03-28 12:46:41 |

Hellbrunn is a fabulous place to visit. Both Summer and winter the grounds of the palace are so picturesque! Myself and my fiance did the tours in April 2005 - it was great fun and very interesting!! A great place for all ages! If you have the time, plan to spend even half a day here. After visiting the trick-fountains and doing the tour of the museum, take time to walk around the grounds of the palace - it is very beautiful. Also great if you have kids as there is a playground and lots of green space to play. Great views of the Untersberg Mountain aswell, good photo opportunites. We loved Hellbrunn so much we are getting married in Hellbrunn Chapel in September 2006 and are also having our wedding reception in the restaurant!!
