Overview
This bar pours more than 40 varieties of wine available by the glass, including more than five varieties of champagne. If none of those suit you, partake of any one of the numerous brandies or liqueurs, or enjoy a premium mixed drink from the fully stocked bar. Beautiful but small, Zinc has almost an elitist, yet friendly, feel; it is as if you have discovered the clique and have been welcomed. Sophisticated, classy and worthy of regular attendance... the owner was always walking around. Nice. Very nice place. A nice change of Austin's "kid" bars where jeans are acceptable, jeans hardly fly here. :)
My husband and I went here during a weekend stay in San Antonio and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere can't be beat, and the prices weren't bad either. I had the most delicious chocolate raspberry martini, and their wine and champagne selections were something amazing as well. I'm having a girl's weekend in a couple of months, and this is definitely on our list of places to stop!
I was somewhat intimidated by Zinc when I first walked in but as I moved along with friends and we had a few round of drinks, I came to the conclusion that it had THE most friendly staff and was up there with La Valencia for the comfortable and upscale lounge factor. A definite stop for me now and in the future. A+ drinks at B- prices are the pleasant surprize at the end of a highly enjoyable evening at Zinc.
the bar is really beautiful, the staff is friendly, and i would visit this place any time i'm in san antonio to enjoy the cool lounge during the day and the lovely, secluded patio in the evening.
