Near the man-made islands of Mission Bay, this beach runs along Mission Boulevard and boasts a fabulous boardwalk. One of the best places in San Diego to soak up the city's beach lifestyle, this is an unsurpassed area for people watching or building sandcastles. For a faster pace, rent a bike or in-line roller skates or better yet, take a ride on Belmont Park's world-famous wooden roller coaster. Whatever attraction you choose, be prepared for large crowds and limited parking at Mission Beach. Specially, because there are a host of volleyball courts where you can spend your days enjoying in the sun with your friends.Open Hours

Of all the beaches in San Diego....this beach is the tourist trap of San Diego! Ya, it has the Boardwalk to boost, and Giant Dipper...great....but this is the last beach I'd go to in San Diego for a relaxing fun day at the beach. Too many people. Many other beautiful beaches in San Diego to enjoy and relax...but if you have teens and you like all the traffic and congestion...feel free....this is your beach!
Everything is expensive, but it's a great beach for a picnic
mission beach, lived ther 4 6months or so , great back then then, early 60s wow . every one would enjoy people great ,weather great, love 2 go back after so long
If you want to sit by the ocean and relax in a peaceful enviroment...Mission Beach is not the place for you. If you want action pack fun and excitement, then this is the place for you. This beach has the beauty of the ocean and the fun and excited of a mini fair. There are also stores and food all around so it is fun for everyone. There is alot of people at this beach all the time, so get there early to get a parking spot. If not, plan on driving around for a bit or walking a bit of a distance. My family loves this beach, that is why we continue to go back.
We love the beach...any beach, but Mission Beach is a great place to vacation if you have teenagers. We rent a beach house 1 week each summer-usually the week of the 4th of July. Probably the most crowded (and most expensive) week of the year but worth every penny. If you're looking for a place to take small kids, I'd head further north around Moonlight beach in Encinitas. This year they've banned alcohol on the beach, so it may be a bit more tame which isn't bad either.
I just love the at atmisphare.Great place to bike.My get away! My friends and I head here when the kids are in school.Spend the day riding up the coast, people watching and site seeing. Tons of great lunch spots along the way. It's a clean and relaxing environment.
Mission Beach is the coolest place that i spent my childhood! I would always be here and the boardwalk was amazing! There was a rollercoaster and the beach is beautiful!! I havent been there since i was in 3rd grade and im 19 now. .but im sure its still the same!
Nice laid back atmosphere. As SoCal as it gets! I like. Friendly people, good surf. The surf shop I visited (can´t recall the name..) had great service and friendly staffing. All good!
