Will never come back again.by Yahoo | 2009-05-10 01:44:30 |

I absolutely loved the location of the hotel, walking distance 5 mits away from Fisherman's wharf,pier39...However, I was terribly disappointed at the front desk employees there. (I do remember their names, but I won't mention it here) I asked some questions but they looked even bothered! Very unprofessional and unkind people..even though I loved their location, I decided not to come back ever again. Next time, I'm going to stay in a different hotel for sure.

From Uddevalla, Sweden to San Fransiscoby Yahoo | 2008-08-04 10:13:18 |

Our travelagent in Sweden adviced us NOT to stay in F. W.-area as it is very "turistic". We booked Sheraton, F.W. anyway and did not regret this!! We came to a fresh, clean, nice looking hotelroom!! We were 6 persons who needed 3 rooms and the receptionist helped us so the rooms were close - no problem! We were very nicely recieved! It´s a big hotel but it never feels overcrowded! We slept nice in the beds, althoug someone mooved the furnitures in the room above us in the middle of the nigth, one or two nigths...A great location for the hotel! Near to the harbour,Golden Gate area, China town, all kinds of shops, more shopping in area round Union Square, . At least three (3!) ofices nearby for car-rental! The hotel breakfast was very expensive, but very good and complete! Our 13 year old son Sebastian liked the lovely pool! Good exersice facilities! Thank you for a terrific holiday in San Fransisco and at your hotel!!

Great Location/Great Hotelby Yahoo | 2008-06-17 20:27:06 |

The location couldn't be better. One block from Fisherman's wharf. Yea, it's pricey, but look at the other hotels in the Wharf area, most if not all are priced at the same price, with no remodeling done (older properties). Great for over 20 somethings as well as older couples. Kids, not much to do for them in the hotel, limited pool area. Not refuting other reviewer's but, since our flight didn't leave until 5:30 PM, we asked the bellman to keep our luggage after noon checkout. No problem. We walked around the wharf doing last minute shopping until 3:30 when we left with our stored luggage, (from the hotel), for the airport. Not left out on the street as previously rated...we were always treated with smiles and courtesy, and this is our 7th trip to the hotel (first one since remodeling done). I would recommend. Remodeling, nice, updated. Didn't try the food there, but as reported, NICE firepits out front for smokers and non-smokers alike! Great place for a casual drink or chat with friends. All in all, a very nice place to stay at Fisherman's Wharf.

Left standing on the streetby Yahoo | 2008-05-28 19:52:44 |

Rquested a lower floor with no steps placed in the addition that was under renovation that required steps and was roped off so workers could renovate. Requested late check out like the book stated in the room for Starwood Guests. Was told the book was outdated and we would have to leave by noon stated I could not check in to the cruise until 1. Manager also stated we had to leave by twelve. Was left standing on the street.

If it were cheaper I'd go back in an instant!by Yahoo | 2008-03-31 16:42:10 |

The decor was very cute and nice! The beds were small but comfortable! The drinks were also very expensive...for two cosmos it was $22. and the parking is $40 a night but you get it until 6pm on the day you check out. but all in all for a quick decision it was in an awesome place and a very nice hotel!

In my opinion....very highly overated. It cost $49.00 a night to park in their garage. I understand this is a 4 star hotel. NOT even close to it.

good value for the moneyby Yahoo | 2007-10-21 18:48:22 |

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights October 16 to 20th. Our first impression upon seeing the exterior (it is an older building) was oh-oh. But further examination showed that everything was freshly painted, unlike some of this hotel's competitors in the area. Outside there is a smokers area with nice outdoor furniture and outdoor fireplaces. As non smokers we just grabbed a seat and enjoyed the fireplace. Once inside, the lobby makes a good impression--new and bright colours, sort of 1950's Lucy and Ricky Ricardo meets Miami Vice (my wife calls it mid-century modern). Just off the lobby is the restaurant/bar area, and the only beef here is that the lights can't be dimmed a bit at night. Hotel staff stated this was being worked on, and that the lights would be dimmed at night in the near future. The part of the hotel being rennovated is visible down the hallway, and if earlier reviewers stayed in this area (presumably with rooms to match) they were probably disappointed. The new rooms were bright and cheerful, with all new cabinetry/couches/lighting and all matching the lobby decor. The bathrooms were updated with stone counter tops and new sinks/cabinets, and the tub area was retiled in modern looking colours. The area around the tub/toilet was a bit small, but overall it was usable. The bed was very comfortable. On two occasions we could here people laughing and partying in the outdoor entrance/concourse area at around 11:00 pm, and a quick call got response from the staff. Overall, we found the staff helpful and friendly. There are numerous other hotels in this Fisherman's Wharf area, and all appeared to have been built in the same time period, I'm guessing the late 60's early 70's, and all were low-rise 3 or 4 story structures. Some have been updated, and some not from our observations and conversations with other travellers. With that in mind, this hotel would probably rate higher than mid-pack in interior finishing, and at least mid-pack or higher in value. The outdoor swimming pool was warm enough for a night swim, even though the weather was cool. The pool area was neat and clean. The gym area was average with a useable universal machine and about six pieces of cardio equipment.

I was satisfied !by Yahoo | 2007-09-11 06:59:14 |

I was ther on Sep, 2007 and it was very good if you wanna compare it with the other hotels in sanfrancisco. Services were perfect but very expensive, they charge for a glass of milk in room eight dollars. Enjoy
