More than a place to come and enjoy a drink, this is a place that became legendary for the crowds who flocked here simply to watch the late owner/bartender Bruno be his entertainingly grumpy self for almost 50 years. His favorite pastime was kicking out unwitting customers one after the other, because either he did not like their looks or they made the mistake of sitting at a table instead of at the bar. Enter through the iron doors into the dim, windowless yet plush Persian-inspired chamber, sit at the bar, and honor Bruno's memory by ordering a Finlandia martini served in a vintage glass dating back to the bar's opening in 1941.
