A fun neighborhood restaurant to visit, locals count on awesome Margaritas and a big plate of authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere is festive and welcoming. Dim lighting, upbeat music, cold drinks, and hot salsa make for a great neighborhood hangout. Pretty much everything on the menu is good. The chef prepares generous portions of traditional Northern Mexican cuisine. You cannot go wrong whether you are in the mood for Steak Picado, Chicken Fajitas, or Cheese Quesadillas. The bartender was once named as one of the city's five best by 'Focus Magazine'. From Tuesday to Saturday it opens from 4 pm and on Sundays it opens from 3pm.

This is the best mexican restaurant in the Bay Area. Their carne asada special is second to none, shrimp gambas and steak picado is ***** five stars. The only mexican restaurant that came close with the best enchilada was the El Sombrero on Geary blvd which is now closed. I drive from San jose to eat here at least 5 - 6 times a year. The best Margaritas in the west. I live in San Jose and can't find a mexican restaurant that comes close. Joe Moreci

I have been going here since I was born, literally, and my dad and uncle have been going here for over 35 years. It is the best Mexican food I have had, and I will continue going here for the rest of my life! :)

Yes, the margaritas are good and the salsa outstanding, but the rest of the food has a processed taste and the service can be sketchy. I live right across the street and have been going there for over 8 years, yet STILL get ambivalent service. Only the proximity to my apartment (and my own laziness) keep me going back.
