A Puerto Rican Sunday morning institution, La Bombonera offers huge mallorcas and other baked items. It's a well-kept secret, however is its ability to prepare excellent meals consistently. La Bombonera attracts huge crowds on weekends. Be sure to try the Puerto Rican coffee. Classic PuertoRican Cafeby Yahoo | 2007-10-08 15:21:18 |

A hundred year-old cafe in Old San Juan. Marvel at the sci-fi style coffee machine behind the counter, and enjoy real Puertorican food. Also has great pastries.

Well, being a spaniard, the bombonera has that spanish, tiled old flavor and it made me feel right at home, Spain!......I highly recommend it. I had the "arroz con pollo" and it it was excellent, with it's local island flavor.....the mallorcas, or ensaimadas , a sweet bread treat, as they are called in valencia, were outstanding and delicious.........europe in america!
