Overview

Chayote's cuisine is among the most innovative in San Juan and attracts some of Puerto Rico's elite, including celebrities such as Sylvester Stallone and Melanie Griffith. This restaurant was founded by Alfredo Ayala, the pioneer of the Noveau Latino cuisine. Exquisitely decorated, a giant chayote sculpture accents the main dining room. Some aspects might remind you of an artsy bistro in New York City. Appetizers include delicacies such as Chayote stuffed with proscciutto. For a main dish, you might try a red snapper fillet. Nothing better than the mango flan to finish off the meal. An excellent wine list is also available.
