The staff is rude. The food was cold. The staff acted like the were doing me a favor by serving me. Do your self a favor and go some where else.

The decor is nice, although it feels kind of small inside. But the food and the experience is worth trying it at least once. Locals go too. Tip: Try to be there early as it gets packed very fast. Specially on weekends. Another thing: Try the duck nachos. If you like duck, you'll be back for more! So good!!!

My boyfriend and I (from NY) were there in March 2009. The only negative was that we put our name on a waiting list an hour in advance but no table was ready when we returned. However, it worked out great because we ended up sitting at the bar downstairs which was not crowded and had GREAT ambiance! The tables upstairs were a little too close together for our preference anyways, so it worked out. Dark, with red lighting, mirrors, candles, a very trendy feel without being stuck-up. The menu was the perfect fusion of Asian and Latin cuisine. We particularly loved the duck nachos and the salmon poke dishes. The dishes were a little expensive, but three of them easily fed us. The dessert (chocolate pot de creme) wasn't that great though. My martini was amazing. The bartenders and hostess were EXTREMELY friendly. We didn't know anything about a dress code (as some other posters have commented on) but maybe that is because my boyfriend was wearing long pants already. All in all, we'd definitely go back. We wished we could have tried more of the dishes.

Two years after going I am still recommending this place to friends. This place was not as pricey as some reviews make it out to be. Certainly no where near the most expensive meal I've had out, nor was it during my stay in PR. Sometimes you do get the super great meal for cheap, but let's face it most of the time you get what you pay for. Their level of quality was well above what I paid for. The service was fine, it is a busy place, so don't expect to go and have a twenty minute conversation with your waiter over places to see. Luckily you won't care about that or the packed house when you start eating their blissful food.

Everything was luke warm, from my martini to the steak. We didn't send the drink or the calamari back, although the martini should've been cold and the calamari should've been hot. We sent the (cold) steak back. It was returned to us, still cold. We sent the cold rock shrimp tacos back. Mind you, these are all $24 items. Is it too much to expect food to be delivered HOT especially when the restaurant is half empty (no doubt because of the economny). We'd been here two years before on a prior trip to PR and dreamed of going again. Call it a nightmare. THe waiter took the steak and shrimp off (which we didn't eat) and offered us dessert on the house (which we declined). I just wanted to get out of there. We left starving and disappointed and had a slice of (hot) pizza when we got back to the hotel. At these prices, the restaurant should be able to deliver food hot.

We (two of us) arrived on time for our 9:30 reservations on a Friday night. Cool looking place, though when you walk in you are actually standing right next to someone's table. (No hostess area) Then the hostess told us that they don't actually follow reservations and that they only gave us priority seating. I really do not know what that meant. She informed us that the wait would be 20-25 minutes. So we went to the downstairs bar and I had a delicious mojito. Time kept passing so at half an hour of waiting we asked when our table would be ready. She told us that it be about another 15 minutes. That didn't exactly pan out. We ended up getting seated after one hour of waiting. At this point most things went better, though not great. Food was a overpriced (and I eat in NYC all the time), though that is the tapas style anyway. For the most part the dishes were tasty and interesting. Our waitress was friendly and service at this point was pretty good.

I heard many favorable things about Dragonfly so I went there with my girlfriend in September. Unfortunately, I would never go back. First, men must wear long pants on a Carribean Island! If you don't, they force you to wear a smock to cover up. But the greatest disappointment was the food portion and price. With tip, it was $85 for the two of us. Incredibly, the food portions are so small we had to eat a ton after we went there! The main meal seems like an appetizer at best. If you come hungry, you'll leave hungry. The waitress was slow to get back to us, although not ridiculously so. This is only a place to go if you want something trendy or want to be seen. Also, it does cater to American tourists well.

My husband and I were in San Juan for one night and wandered into the Dragonfly looking for sustenance. We selected it because it looked busy. What a great choice! The atmosphere is dark and vibrant, all reds and cool house/jazz/ethereal music. The staff was cool at first, but warmed up as the night progressed. My husband was wearing shorts, and we didn't know that was against their dress code. They wrapped a sarong around his waist (tasteful black), and while I was startled, he didn't seem to mind, so we were seated without any wait. It turns out that the food was so great, he would probably wear a floral sundress if it meant that he could go back and eat there again. The 5-spice duck was amazing, and the Halibut was to die for. The chef has a terrific palate and was able to combine flavors that we are not familiar with into unforgettable dishes. Total price for two (including tip) was $130, but if we had it to do over again, we probably would have ordered even more food. Everything is tapas style (meant to be shared), and comes out of the kitchen as it is ready, so relax and enjoy! PS--Desserts were great as well.

The food was good, however, they have an unwritten dress code for men and asked my husband to wear the most ridiculous sarong to cover his legs since he showed up in shorts. He refused (from their reaction he was probably the first person to ever do so)and they still served us, but it was handled very poorly by the staff, esp. considering that we placed our name on their "priority seating" list in person while wearing shorts and they let us into the restaurant in shorts BUT never once told us that shorts for men was not ZEN. Ironic considering this is primarily a rainbow club... I don't see the ying and yang about that either.

Although there's no reservations they do have a "waiting list" that you can call a head and get on which is highly suggested. We waited for about 1/2 hour at the downstairs bar and was able to get awesome mojito's and edamame to hold us over. The atmosphere and decor are NYC/SF urban cool, food was great and quick - a must order is the Salmon Poke. Friendly staff that are bilingual round out an exceptional experience.
