Overview

One of the best traditional Italian restaurants in Puerto Rico, rivaled only by Il Perugino and Ciao Mediterranean Restaurant. The service is excellent, considered among the best on the island. Martino's offers an excellent, made-at-the-table Caesar salad and superb veal dishes. Desserts, especially the homemade tiramisu, are standouts. The view from the terrace of the Diamond Palace Hotel & Casino is unparalleled in San Juan.

      Rates reasonable for San Juan. Needs TLC. Desk staff needs customer service training; maids do best they can with what they've got. Good location in the Condado area. Good for a cheap night's sleep before or after a cruise. About on par with other hotels in San Juan in it's price range.

      This place has been sold to new owners.The old owners who had the place running pretty well are now in a restaurant in the same avenue (Ashford). The restaurant is called Via Appia and I've heard it sells more than Martino's cause this Via Appia place existed way before they had it, but they have aparently raised it like a phoenix (from the ashes)and have given the place a new sense of service. They are serving similar foods like martinos. Still the same at home feeling!!!

      this restaurant has been sold to new owners and is no longer run by the people from martino's. i hear it is no where as good as the original.
