Etxekalte Jazz Club is a legend of San Sebastian nightlife. It occupies two floors and there is different music played on each one, each with different atmospheres. The upstairs is a pub with pleasant music, while the downstairs is a club. The upstairs area is brightly lit and sensual music plays so that it is possible to talk quietly at the tables. The clientele are thirty-somethings and arty. The downstairs, very dark, is for fans of trance and house music. Famous international and local DJs such as Javi Pez preside over the sounds. The clientele are mostly in their twenties. The professionally prepared cocktails are recommended, like the "quemadito," which is made from milk, rum, cinnamon and coffee.
