A spectacular structure of concrete, metal and glass that caused great controversy when it was built in 1999, this prize-winning design by Rafael Moneo broke with the city's architectural style. Palacio de Congresos del Kursaal houses two concert halls, various multifunctional meeting rooms, shops, a café, a restaurant, a car park and a successful exhibition space that has already hosted high-profile fashion shows by Oteiza and Balenciaga. It has an excellent location overlooking Zurriola Beach.
