Overview
This was a very interesting tour. As if the tour wasn't good enough, we also got fed bread out of a "real" oven and had an opera singer sing to us. Got to see an old school, get the Spanish perspective on the past, see old farms and blacksmith shops, see a usable mill and old adobe buildings. I think this would be a great idea for a family. It's affordable and interactive.
To visit Golondrinas is to step out of the 21st century and return to eden. Quiet, beautiful, full of wonderous exhibits of a working Spanish Rancho from the 1700's. It covers something approaching 500 acres and it is impossible to see everything in one day. They have buildings, fields with crops, animals, art, people in costume to answer questions. A creek runs through the place and it has neat things like flour mills, blacksmith shops, chapels, picnic areas. It is absoluely Beatiful. And, on the way out, they have a gift shop and concession stand. Wear good walking shoes! there are no paved walkways anywhere. Admission is very cheap - I think kids get in free. Adults are just 4-5 dollars
