Playa Primera de El Sardinero Lakes, Rivers, Canals & Beaches
Santander's Famous BeachOverview
Particularly popular with families and water sports enthusiasts, this beach is 330 meters long and covers a total area of around 18000 square meters. The event which made the beach famous over 150 years ago, the Baños de Ola, is still celebrated here every summer. The beach is well looked after and facilities include nearby parking, sun umbrellas, lifeguards, a nursery for small children and showers. It is cleaned every day and there are bins for your rubbish. It has been awarded the European Union's "Blue Flag" in recognition of its cleanliness and the excellent facilities available. It's a well known landmark located in front of Plaza de Italia and the Gran Casino.

returned for 8 th yearA break from the Norm!
safe sandy beach for the kids. you need to be early to get parking space highly recommended and well worth a visit cafes near by. we will be returning in 2007 for our 8th trip to santander.
One of five clean sandy beaches next to the interesting and friendly city of Santander. Very different to the usual crowded beaches of bigger cities and tourist resorts like Benidorm..this is a place mainly visited by Spaniards from other parts of Spain, hence relaxed and fairly safe. Can be a little cold or cloudy even in summertime though. Brilliant!
