Decorated with countryside paraphernalia that reflects the happiness of the island, this restaurant offers guests authentic Dominican flavors. Dine to the rhythms of a sensual meringue played on the tambora, the guira and the accordion. Real Dominican Food!by Yahoo | 2009-07-19 03:13:55 |

I have been at El Conuco on several ocassions with my husband, and once with my daughter and another with my son and daughter-in-law, and every time it was wonderful. First the food is authentic! From wonderful longaniza to sancocho, to tostones, to sancocho, to chicharrones de pollo, we all felt we had died and gone to heaven. The ambience is lovely and unlike any other restaurant. There is dancing and typical Dominican music. If you want to experience true Dominican fare, well made, with fun music and in a delightful ambience, El Conuco is the place for you.!!

Let me explain to you, was the most beatiful experience. When my eyes seing all the good food, and the way they treat you, you thinks that you are in heaven, friendly, courteuos and one of the things that we like is the compaternity and frienship those people give. In the time that was there, the only problem was the parking space. I hope this time every thing is ok. Thanks, Ms,A. Pereira

    Quaint and Quietby Yahoo | 2007-11-15 15:08:20 |

The atmosphere was fun right from the start. The wait staff met us as we walked in from the street, they were full of smiles and spoke with understandable broken english. We ordered an appetizer of chips, conqueso and salsa. There is a bottle on the table with a homemade Dominican hot sauce that really spices up the food and was great with the chips. The consistency of the chips and the queso is not what you are use to in the states. The sancocho was the best we tasted anywhere on the island. It came with large whole potatos, large chunks of chicken, beef and chivo. We ordered maofungo, yucca with onion and chivo. Everything was good and we enjoyed trying all of the island dishes. The atmosphere was alot of fun and the restaurant was clean and bright. Definitely a must do while in Santo Domingo.
