I have been visiting the arboretum for over 20 years. It is a must everytime I am in town visiting family. The green houses with the Koi fish...the rolling gardens, and the overall beauty. Fantastic and FREE

We only toured the Japanese Garden at the Arboretum. We drove through the entire area though and were happily reminded of Stanley Park in Vancouver. The Japanese Garden is well worth the $5 entrance fee. It was worth the five bucks just to see the Ginko Biloba trees! Straight out of the Jurassic. Very peaceful and serene. We spent the entire morning there. The huge koi were amazing. Only caveat was the tourists who couldn't seem to understand the concept of 'stay behind the fence', i.e. don't get down in the pond please.

I live in Seattle and really enjoy the Arborteum and all of its beautiful colors and tranquil feel. Although, I have been to many other gardens/arboretums that have more flowering and more color. As far as Seattle, this is a great place to visit and escape the city.
