Everything was really wonderful at this Hotel. Spectacular service and views--- beautiful rooms and decor. Great location. What more could you ask for! The Spa was just unbelievable and the food ws really good.
Did not stay there but had massages at the spa. Fantastic setting and great massage technicians. Highly reccommended. The hotel is located in a very central area and easy walking to major city center areas. There is a Starbucks 20 paces from the front door, across the street.
The location is perfect, Nanjing road and Peoples Park at your feet. The service was outstanding and the restaurants are some of the best I've tried. The gym has an excellent view and a highly trained staff. I spent a week in at the hotel before I rented a serviced appartment for six months. Highly recommended.
Stayed on the 59th Club Floor large corner room in April/05. Staff drowning with charm and smiles. Each time you visit the Club Lounge the staff will do up your room. Excellent buffet and Spa. So many good hotels of the same standard within Shanghai all offering 5 Star service. So much to do in Fascinating Shanghai so little time. Xintiandi is like Covent Gardens in London, England. Restaurants and nightlife here makes Calgary feel like old folks home. Well done China, this is your Century and I am proud to be chinese too.
Service is excellent. I have stayed twice this year and each time was greeted at the door by eager bellmen who took my luggage to my room. Each time, I was personally escorted to my room, and the room amenities explained to me. The on-site restaurants are very good. The western food in the grill was excellent (though I prefer Chinese food when in China). The hotel is only a couple of blocks from Nanjing road shopping, and not far by taxi to Xiantindi, the Bund, and other attractions. There are moderately priced conference rooms available as well. Room quality was top notch; clean and comfortable.
It is the best hotel I have ever stay. Great service and beautiful room. Nice view of central Shanghai. I love it and can't wait to go back!
Hotel is on top 30+ floors of this tower. Every room is an excellent view of the city. Buffet was good food, but I would consider normal China fair for a 4-5 star hotel. Got room at business rate - a great deal. Tried to get reservation on second trip, but it was booked. If you want to stay here, book far in advance.
I spent 2 weeks in Shanghai. We stayed at the Four Seasons(Awful), Grand Hyatt(Average,Poor service) and we stayed at the JW Marriott. We Canceled our other booked nights with Four Seasons/Grand Hyatt and went back to the JW Marriott. The service is fantastic! They really had the quality of service down! It was a great stay. May I recommend getting a club room. The club room is an Oasis with fantastic views and great people. They will really help you out if ask! Great place! Highly Recommended and I don't say that often.
I stayed here at the excecutive apts. for 9 weeks the summer of 2005.The hotel started to feel like home after 2 weeks there, great room service, great accomodations, great location, all in all my favorite place to stay in Shanghai.
JW Marriott is the best new hotel in Shanghai (opened in fall 2003, I think). I stayed at the JW twice in the past 4 months, one week each trip. The rooms are decorated tastefully, combining modern western design with traditional Chinese influences. The view from the lounge on the 60t floor is breath-taking. Hotel staff are very helpful. Don't spend more money to stay at the Westin. The champagne brunch there is over-priced and the ugly building is detremental to the Shanghai skyline.
