Overview

Shanghai Indoor Stadium, built in 1975, is a first-class, modern stadium. Like some descriptions of China, it is surreal, large, plain and imposing. By the entrance of the contest hall, there are three sculptures of athletes and a torch that stand about 15 meters high. The pillar-less hall is 33.2 meters high with a diameter of 110 meters and is studded with lamps hanging off the suspended ceiling. The football field and track host a variety of sports, as well as concerts and other entertainment.
