Overview

Since its first award in 1988 in the Business Traveler UK Polls, it has become somewhat a tradition for the Mandarin Oriental Singapore to garner several awards a year. It is the sort of hotel with Old World opulence, discreet and impeccable, from the antique furniture down to the soft, deep carpeting. This grand deluxe hotel was one of the early hotels that formed the cluster of the bayfront hotels. It commands a picturesque view of the harbor, the skyline and the city.

Mandarin Oriental, Singaporeby Yahoo | 2008-12-24 07:55:05 |

The Mandarin Oriental Singapore was a great hotel. It is definitely one of the top 5 hotels in Singapore. I was impressed from the second I was picked up from the airport to the time when I was dropped off. The hotel is very contemporary. The lobby was small, but beautifully decorated. The rooms are very spacious and are also very equipped. The Mandarin Oriental Hotels that I had previously stayed in were The Oriental Bangkok and The Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai, so the service at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore was a little less than what I had imagined. The service was still very very friendly and everything we had asked for was done for us immediately. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Singapore.

very good serviceby Yahoo | 2008-06-22 16:47:06 |

Very professional,i was very suprise to all the staff that they were so helpful and friendly...there is only one thing that really makes me feel dissapointed and think, its not fair and not right, after i spoke the couple of the foriegn staff that they work 6 days a week 10 hours a day. I just dont understand the rules and concern to them because they were very good staff... Hopefully when i come back,i will heard a changes... But aside from that i really enjoy my stay in your hotel and i really feel at home...i like the food in melt and the staff and of course my favorite place in the hotel is axiz bar the staff are all beautiful and friendly...the location is good a part sometime are so noisy...i will really stay again in Mandarin Oriental for my next trip in singapore...

High price, lousy serviceby Yahoo | 2007-11-06 10:42:12 |

Try to do too much on the surface and totally ignore details like (purposely or not) forgot to provide receipt upon checkout. With 380 SGD per night, the room requires you to pay additional 30 SGD for 24 internet access. And when there is a problem, the response were slow.

Wonderful Experience!!!by Yahoo | 2007-09-09 01:45:10 |

Upon our arrival, throughout to our departure, we were treated like we were very special guests! The entire hotel staff was so pleasant and thoughtful! Our room was very modern, spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent, with outstanding dining services at each and every meal! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and definitely plan on returning! EXCELLENT AND OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Sincerely, Guillermo & Sharon Ruiz Danville, Calif. 94526 USA

An excellent place for an excellent city.by Yahoo | 2007-08-26 06:04:02 |

I stayed at The Oriental Singapore for 35 days and believe me, I've never been in such a nice place before! You will love the employees, the installations and the location! It's not cheap but believe me, It delivers too much value than what you pay.

Great serviceby Yahoo | 2007-03-26 01:01:34 |

2 adults and 1 child from Canada, March 2007 We stayed at the Oriental for 3 nights we were picked up at the airport by the hotel limo. Checking in was done in the room. service was very good, they were very pleasant.Staff was accommodating. The breakfast buffet was very good and had a great selection, but a little pricey, especially when a 6yr old had pay $22. Only complaint about the hotel was that the food was very expensive, and if you wanted a coca cola or a snack, you had to get it from the mini bar, there were no vending machines. Had to pay $ 5.00 for a coke or ice tea. Had to pay $ 0.50 per minute for internet use. This day and age the fee does not make any sense. For a hotel like this, internet should have been free. The location was very convenient. Close to the MRT train, taxi service prices were reasonable. Lots of restaurants in the mall, that was within 5 mins from the hotel. We definitely recommend this hotel for both corporate travelling or pleasure.

Much better after a facelift!by Yahoo | 2006-07-09 20:35:48 |

For years the Oriental was an ageing beauty - afterall the hotel had opened in the mid-80s and was in much need of a facelift. Now that the facelift is done, the whole feel is much nicer. The staff is friendly and service is good. Hotel also has a good spa and several good dining options, including Morton's of Chicago.

Remarkableby Yahoo | 2006-06-16 04:34:15 |

I Stayed at the oriental with my husband and daughter somewhere in May this year... loved the fabolous service and friendly staff... they never said no to my needs... got my daughter a stroller... and made everything convenient for us during this trip... I remember every night when we return from our shopping with tired feet, the staffs (ya... a bunch of them) would come help us with our stuff and make sure the stroller is ready for my daugther. Great place to stay and I would deifinitely recomend it.

Where everybody knows your name...by Yahoo | 2006-05-21 19:16:27 |

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, the people were hospitable and looked out for my every need. As soon as I checked in, it seemed like everyone knew who I was! Very personal service! Our room included breakfast, which was one of the best buffets I have ever seen! American, Asian, Indian foods were all available. I love this hotel and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this city!
