Overview

This Chinese restaurant boasts a superior setting decorated in the traditional colours of lacquered red walls and black chairs. Elegant tables are set with pure-jade plate holders, ivory-sterling chopsticks and fine china. The clear winter melon soup is packed with melon, beef strips, scallops, prawns and crab meat while the shark's fin soup is sautéed with crab meat and served in a rich stock. Other dishes to try include fried cod fillet with garlic sauce or bamboo shoots wrapped with pan-fried beef. The wine list is adequate with mainly New World wines.

    The food is top notch : fresh & authentic. Service is great, I have been here many times & occasionally on the spur of the moment turned up in mufti & sandals looking like a street urchin : they still catered to me as if I was looking a million bucks.This is rare in SG top restaurants. The only other haute cuisine place in SG that has given me such good treatment irregardless of drssing is Garibaldi's.

    Lobster with egg white was brilliant. Lobster was tender and tasty. Not forgetting the mini Buddha jumps over the wall. A must try. Visited on 27 Jan 2008 at 630pm sharp.

    food and service were fabulous! would love to go back anytime! food was totally worth it and the hairy crab with beancurd was my favourite dish! staff there was attentive and polite.
