May be once it was little India but now a days little chennai (full of Tamilians). The atmosphere was so crowded and roads are full of paper and garbage. The nice place to taste the Indian foods.

Little India was great, enjoyed walking around in Mustafas - must be the cheapest place in Singapore for shopping for EVERYTHING you can think of. I went there on a week end as I could not believe the CROWD of indians all in one location as if separated from the rest of Singapore. It made me wonder why I never saw any indian on Orchard Road but were all packed in Little India. Its one thing for a spot to be called Little India but amazing to see how separated the people were from the rest of the Singaporese populace. When I was ready to leave Little India, I needed a Taxi. However, it took over an hour to get a taxi home. I found out later that as the night grows older taxi drivers are reluctant to pick up passengers as the metered rates increase! Up to that point, I noted how structured and organised the society so I was disappointed to see this attitude over the extra dollar play out where there is so much discipline. All taxi driver said they were on duty or on another job or outright said no - even while I walked about in the drizzling rain. All said - you can get nice Indian and Singaporese souvenirs in this area. Enjoy!

1). Good - that lot of Indian restaurants exists in 1 place with lot of options. 2). Restaurants which cater to large "group bookings" for tourists from India are a "BIG NO NO". They are "Tandoor, Bombay Dreams and Sitara" in Little India. Reason: Indian tourists buy dinner coupons while still in India - at these places. They arrive in big groups - 10 coaches full of tourists at a time - say 8 pm. These hotels do not have capacity to cater to such large crowd - esp "together". Hence you end up in serpentine queques & have to wait for 1 hour to get your food in your plate. All tables are dirty with previous leftovers & these hotels do not ramp up their hotel staff & hence service is shabby. If you happen to be in a smaller but different group, it may happen that some food item is reported by them as "extinct" but if some members who are part of bigger group arrive even later - they are offerred full plates & food reported "extinct" becomes live & freshly available for such members...!! Its better to eat "Aa laa carte" from other restaurants in Little India than from these 3-5 hotels esp during vacation time or else -you face chaos.

this place was too good.i loved it.it was very nice.there were a lot of wonderful shops and resturants here.there were a majority of indian people here.there were a lot of tourists here.i loved all the places i went too little india.this place was superb and mind blowing.i saw the mustafa centre in little india.my children also enjoyed in little india.the only thing i did not like about little india was people had littered the place.

Not worth a visit as Little India has nothing to offer in terms of its culture or entertainment. There are hundreds of Indian restaurants elsewher so no special reason to come here to eat.

there is nothing i dislike about the place it is so authentic and rich in culture. i had the best time there.

I dont like the place, people are not freindly, they'll just stare at you. I'm not even sure if they really sell real gold jewelrys from their department stores in LITTLE INDIA. We compared the rate of mobile phones, appliances and other gadgets, it's much more expensive compared to the rate from Orchard! I'm not going to spend time again visiting Little India.

little india offersa site to be visited by tourists. They serve indian food and several shops sells really unique items. Thers is this shop which sells light. Very very impressive.Beautiful lights shining on the artifact.(Artifacts and lights are togather) Its really nice. However, i felt the men there looks as if they have never in their life seen a women. they kept looking. Other then that. its okie.

Well, the place is filled with life. Lots of nice things to see and lots of hot and spicy food located all around. But, it could get a little too crowded, especially on weekends.

Now the train called the MRT goes to the heart of Little India. The Little India station is at the Tekka Wet market (the old name is KK), open every day. The Farrer Park station in northeast of this, takes 20 minutes to walk from one station to the next if not a big holiday and crowd of people. Get off at Farrer Park and walk back to Little India station. Shop at the wet market a few meters from the Little India station buy fresh food, meat, fruit and veggies and eat lunch at the hawker area there too. It is great.
