Just got Back - it was Great!by Yahoo | 2010-01-17 19:47:37 |

This hotel is a great bargain and much like the other older hotels in Christiansted. There is nothing fancy here, just a great beach, clean rooms and plenty of relaxation. Snorkeling and water sports is great - they have a new vendor on the Cay that rents wave runners, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and more. The restaraunt on the Cay is alright, but the Tuesday night buffet cookout and entertainment is outstanding and very popular. The crusie ships are back in Fredrickstad and about 2 a week saty the day. The passengers were very friendly and spending money in town. Shopping is good as well as the selection of food and drink. Fortunately, there is new management and the Hotel will be making more improvements. My wife and I really did not want to leave - staff was friendly and snorkeling around the Cay was nice. Of course, Cane Bay is the best location for diving if you are interested (Cane Bay Dive Shop is the best). We went to Buck Island National Park, but most of the coral were in bad shape. The sail out there was nice and the water beautiful. This is not a resort with constant service, although the office is open constantly with attentive staff. This is a place to relax on the beach and server as a launching point for your many other adventures. I do recommend renting a car rather than relying on the taxi service if you would like to explore the St. Croix. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and will be back next year with our college-age kids.

We have gone three years in a rowby Yahoo | 2006-06-30 18:34:40 |

I bought a two week timeshare for Hotel on the Cay from E-Bay at a great price sight unseen and kept my fingers crossed because of the reviews that I read about it. My wife & I love the place. Great location. Very private and safe. Excellent beach and snorkeling at the island and it is close to some excellent restaurants. Yes the rooms need some upgrading and they are slowly doing that and yes it is not at this point in time a 5 star resort. But it is comfortable, accessible, quiet and relaxing. I would recommend it just don't expect the Ritz...

Great for everyone!!by Yahoo | 2006-01-23 21:56:27 |

This is the fourth year that we have been to st. croix and every year we stay at HOTC. It is small and yes it could use some renovations but that is overlooked by the great service that we get there. Close to town were you can eat, shop, go diving, snorkel, or do some site seeing. Be sure and stay at the hotel on Tuesday nite for the Beach BBQ. what great value and what a blast. We bring our children also, they love it. We are even looking at property there for retirement. We are a young couple in our late 20's and early 30's two children 13 and 2 1/2, that is what they look forward to every year.

A Wonderful Hotelby Yahoo | 2005-12-10 21:38:45 |

This is a beautiful hotel that is completely surrounded by water. There all all sorts of water sports, great food, beautiful room, decent rates and very friendly people

Needs improvement!by Yahoo | 2005-07-14 16:50:16 |

We just got back from HOTC. The location of the place was good and close to alot of place's to eat in town. The problems we had were with the room and service. The rooms need renovation especially in the bathrooms! Our T.V. remote never worked and you only get a few channels. We never had cold water ever! Two days we didn't have water for a few hours. For two days there were no clean towels available, so we settled for a beach towel one day but the other day there were not any beach towels clean either. The beach was nice and we enjoyed it. Just overall i don't think i would go back to St. Croix for a whole week or stay there. Any question just email me.
