Overview

It is worth the walk to Cruz Bay's outskirts to visit this lovely old building. Constructed in 1757 as a plantation great house, it was restored in 1982. The building's huge windows open to catch the trade winds. The library is home to a dusty museum on the lower floor with a few exhibits on the island's past. Spend your time browsing upstairs. The book collection is small, but the reading room is a nice place to peruse the library's collection of local books. There is no admission charge.
