Overview

One of the loveliest in Virgin Islands National Park, Hawksnest Bay offers a gorgeous strand of white sandy beach, decorated with sea grape and fringed by waving palms. The snorkeling is excellent on the eastern edge of the bay. A nice swim or snorkel takes you around the point to the adjacent Little Hawksnest Beach, also called Oppenheimer or Gibney Beach by some locals. Picnic tables, both covered and shaded by the trees, and non-flush toilets round out the amenities. There is no admission charge.
