A St. Louis traditionby Yahoo | 2007-08-28 21:03:58 |

No St. Louis summer is complete without a trip to the Muny! It offers something for everyone. You can spend a good deal of money and get prime seats and catering, or you can bring your own picnic and sit in the free or cheap seats. The shows are always top-notch, and every musical fan will find at least one favorite each season. The atmosphere is like nothing else in St. Louis: many people dress up in their Sunday best, and enjoy picnics and games on the lawn. Everyone from young children to elderly couples goes to the Muny. Tip: if you go there, note that most people do not wear extremely casual clothing to the Muny. It's not unusual to see men in neat khaki pants and polo shirts, and women in sundresses.

The MUNY Traditionby Yahoo | 2006-12-28 19:55:14 |

The MUNY is a St. Louis landmark. For over 88 years people have been coming to see outdoor theater productions. It brings family together and gives you an experience you won't find anywhere else. You can't go to St. Louis in the summer without stopping by the MUNY at least one night to see a Musical. They just don't make musicals like they used to... well at the MUNY you can go back in time and see all your old favorite classics, like the Sound of Music, the King and I, Wizard of Oz, and even new ones like Aida or Miss Saigon. Everyone loves the MUNY!!

Fun Times in the Parkby Yahoo | 2005-09-26 16:39:48 |

The Muny is a great place for people to come and watch a play on a summer evening. If you go early and bring binoculars stand in line for the free seats. They are a Muny tradition, and well free. This is not to say that paying for good seats is not fun either, but it's the experience that matters. I recommend going to Mom's Deli and getting something to eat while you wait. Then after the show is over head to Ted Drew's for custard. All in all this is the perfect St. Louis summer evening, and you can get it all for under 20$ a person.

THE MUNY IS A JEWELby Yahoo | 2005-06-15 19:43:59 |

Being able to sit out under the stars and enjoy truly top-notch performances - it's a six-star no brainer! This is a don't miss for anyone visiting St. Louis. We've been going for years and have never seen anything other than sterling performances. Even on a hot night, after the sun goes down and with the help of the large fans, the outdoor experience is not at all uncomfortable. GOOD TIP: Get there early - bring a picnic basket and mix with othes at tables on the grounds.

This should be number one!!by Yahoo | 2005-05-23 16:53:14 |

I don't know who is doing the ratings on what to see, but they apparently never even saw the Muny. As a building alone, this is a MUST SEE!! Part of the Forest Park Area, this amazing outdoor theatre seats 10,000 people, and for many shows, people bring blankets and sit outside the area on the grass. The prices for the shows are the most reasonable I have found, with FREE seating available for all shows. Anyone coming to visit should make a real effort to take in a show. Anyone living in St. Louis should have season tickets. The Muny is one of the things I miss most since I moved to Florida. The experience is top notch, the enjoyment is always there, and the value is excellant. Don't shortchange yourself. Pass up the other "attractions" and get tickets to anything happening at THE MUNY!!

Smashing!by Yahoo | 2005-05-12 17:06:23 |

I have returned to the Muny year after year, and even sitting in the free seats the magical feeling engulfs you in the true Muny experience. Each summer offers a different program, and there have been so few times that I have come away disappointed, usually from rain delays or cancellations. This is truly a great place to take in a show and the beauty and wonder of Forest Park in St. Louis.
